The first “International Summer Residency for Writers at Hald” took place during the period of July 12 – August 9, 2009.

The H.A.L.D. program selected four fiction authors from abroad to live and work alongside selected Danish fiction authors in Hald Hovedgaard’s main building

The foreign writers were:

• Ingrid Z. Aanestad, Norway
• Kyle Beachy, USA
• Rui Herbon, Portugal
• Shadreck Chikoti, Malawi

During they four weeks at Hald writers had company of these Danish writers:
